Eyeshadows to enhance your eyes

Written by Zainab Mohamed

Did you know that different eyeshadows can enhance different eye colours? It's important to consider your eye colour when deciding on shades of eye makeup. Matching your eyeshadow to your eye colour can look too monochromatic, so instead we've use the tips below to help your natural eye colour stand out.

Blue Eyes: With blue eyes, stay far away from blue eyeshadow. If you want your eyes to pop and look mesmerising then try wearing earth-tones. Blue is a naturally cool tone, so warmer shades tend to set this iris colour ablaze.

The Best Colour Complements: Gold, bronze, copper, champagne, and rose.

Brown eyes: With brown eyes, you can get away with wearing almost any color of eyeshadow. The reason: Brown is a neutral, and it doesn't tend to compete with colours in the same way that other eye hues do. But if you want your eyes to pop then try either green eyeshadow or pink eyeshadow.

The Best Colour Complements: Bronze, green, purple, navy, and teal

Green/Hazel Eyes: With green eyes, the pros all point to some variation of purple as looking the most beautiful on green eyes. If violet isn't your first colour of choice, browns that have a reddish undertone are recommended as these enhance the eye without being too distracting.
The Best Colour Complements: Purple, violet, sepia, rust, and pink.
